What is a local offer?

The Local Offer provides a single point for information to help families access details about services available to them, and offer guidance in multiple areas, such as:

  • Early years places
  • Schools (including academies and free schools)
  • Colleges
  • Health and care
  • Leisure activities

The Local Offer also includes guidance for parents when they need to speak with practitioners and professionals and information on giving feedback, raising concerns and making complaints.

The Record

Bolton collects basic information about a child's needs on a database known as 'The Record'. This is used to inform future service development and to ensure that the Local Authority collates and keeps accurate records about a child’s needs. A Parent Information and Support Worker coordinates The Record, and can be contacted on 01204 337102.
