Road closures and temporary traffic orders
Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
A temporary traffic regulation order (TTRO) is a legal document which closes or restricts traffic movement on a road.
We can issue a TTRO for:
- roadworks
- large deliveries or cranes on the road
- tv or movie filming
- special events on the road (eg parades, festivals, races, street parties). A government guide gives more details.
How to apply
For further information download our application pack which contains full details of how to apply for a TTRO and charges associated.
Due to the legal processes involved, and the need to advertise any closure in the local newspaper, we require six weeks notice to process a TTRO.
