Sometimes life can be tough, traumatic events in your childhood can lead to experiencing physical, behavioural and mental health problems, even in adulthood. However, with the right support you can live a happy, healthy fulfilling life.

Free Foundational Adverse Childhood Experiences & Trauma Awareness Training now available to all staff and volunteers working in Bolton.

Trauma Informed Communities Toolkit supports trauma informed practice, when working in and with communities, assisting to adopt trauma-informed ways of working that help everyone feel safe and supported.

 

Trauma Informed Practice training for schools

We are pleased to announce two new FREE training courses available for primary and secondary teachers and classroom support staff:

Primary schools -Trauma-Informed Practice in the Classroom, Friday, 27th February 2026, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM at Lancaster suit, Albert Halls, Victoria Road, Bolton, BL1 1RU.

What You’ll Learn

  • Understand how stress and trauma affect the brain and nervous system
  • Learn strategies to build resilience in pupils
  • Reflect on applying trauma-informed principles in your classroom
  • Practical tools for universal and targeted support, including:
    • Emotion Coaching
    • Five to Thrive (with one-page profile activity)
    • Mending Hurts
    • Seven small things that make a big difference

Primary schools -Trauma-Informed Practice and the School Environment: Creating Connections, Building a Resilient School Community, Friday, 27th March, 2026, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM at Lancaster suit, Albert Halls, Victoria Road, Bolton, BL1 1RU.

  • The science behind resilience and vulnerability
  • How fear and flow influence behaviour
  • Practical strategies to build resilience across your school community
  • Creating safe, soothing environments that promote healing and buffer stress

Secondary schools-Trauma-Informed Practice in the Classroom, Friday 13th March, 2026, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Lancaster suit, Albert Halls, Victoria Road, Bolton, BL1 1RU

FREE Bespoke Training offer

There is an opportunity for Foundational ACEs course to be delivered to your organisation as a bespoke session for free.  

The bespoke sessions are put together to specifically address the needs of your organisation.We will work with you to ensure that the length of the session is what you need and that the topics included are relevant to you. These topics can include what are ACEs, child development, what trauma is, the stress response system and trauma-informed practice.
