Care Certificate
The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors.
Developed jointly by Skills for Care, Health Education England and Skills for Health, the Care Certificate is made up of the 16 minimum standards that should be covered if you are 'new to care' and should form part of a robust induction programme.
You can find documents that support completion of the standards on Skills For Care website in the Care Certificate workbook section.
In addition to the tools provided on the Skills For Care Website, we have developed a Care Certificate Standards-Matrix & Observation Record document to help you trace your progress of completing all 16 standards.
