Our Open Access Learning workspace is for courses that are free of charge. It hosts the following training:
Mental Health and Wellbeing training programme offers free, accessible training for people living, working or volunteering in Bolton to build awareness, skills and confidence in supporting their own and others’ mental health and wellbeing. Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) Training Programme provides funded training for staff and volunteers to build the essential skills, safety knowledge and confidence needed to deliver safe, high-quality holiday activities and food provision for children and young people. Open Access Learning DIGITAL catalogue replaces our Moodle platform and is where you will find both our Adult and Children’s Safeguarding Training as well as Mental Health Training courses. For more information, please visit our E-Learning Page.
Booking on courses on the Open Access Learning workspace
If you do not have an account, please register your details on Open Access Learning. When you are registered, you will be able to sign into Open Access Learning, browse the training catalogue and enrol on the courses.

If you cannot register, it is because you are already registered but in a different workspace. If you are an existing Me-Learning user but need to be registered in the Events Me-Learning platform, please email learninganddevelopment@bolton.gov.uk . If you need to cancel your place on a course
If your circumstances change and you cannot attend a course, please Log into your account, find the course you are booked onto and cancel your place.
When cancelling your place, please be aware you must cancel your place at least 3 weeks prior to the course date, otherwise the following charges will apply-
3 weeks or more – No Charge
2 weeks prior - £30.00
The week of the training course, the day of training or non-attendance on the day- Full Cost of the course
IMPORTANT - If your course is free of charge and you do not cancel within the times outlined above, you will be charged £30.00 for non-attendance.
Bespoke training
Many of our courses can be delivered to your own organisations as a bespoke course – just send us an email letting us know what you want, and we will endeavor to arrange it for you. For this and any other questions, please email learninganddevelopment@bolton.gov.uk.
