  • It is an environment for people who want to remain independent but who may need some additional support now or in the future.
  • Our aim is to provide the very best services to promote independent living, enhance wellbeing and provide a sense of security alongside creating a community of likeminded people where friends are made and life is for living.

Our Extra Care schemes consist of self-contained flats comprising of:

  • Fitted kitchen
  • Private or ensuite bathroom, most with walk-in, easy access shower
  • Door entry system
  • Emergency call system

Communal facilities may include:

  • Lounge
  • Quiet room
  • Laundry
  • Gardens
  • Guest room for a nominal fee should friends or family visit overnight
  • Various social activities

Care delivery within Extra Care

Our onsite care team will assess your personal care needs with you. They will make sure that your care is designed to meet your needs and is delivered within the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Care can be funded via the local authority or privately and our onsite team can offer guidance in relation to funding.
Our onsite care teams offer a flexible and efficient response to meet your care and support needs and can respond to emergency calls 24 hours a day.

Pets

Each housing provider has a pets policy which they will explain to you.

How do I apply?

You can apply directly to the landlord or, if you have a social worker, they will share details of the extra care housing schemes in Bolton that may be able to support you and how you can apply. 

Before registering for a property, we recommend that:

  • You think about the location of the property and whether it is where you would like to live
  • Have a chat with the landlord to understand more about the property and if it is suitable for you
  • Visit the property to make sure it meets your needs
