Autism support

The Greater Manchester Autism Consortium project is part of the National Autistic Society and provides information, advice and sign-posting to autistic people, family members and professionals from within the Greater Manchester area. The information service consists of the following:

  • A virtual phoneline 0161 998 4667 where callers can leave a voicemail message anytime of the day which is sent to the team members as an email. Calls will be responded to within 3 working days. (NB the team are based at home so if messages are not left we will be unable to take the call or even be aware that people have called us so please do leave us a message).
  • Web forms via our website https://www.autismgm.org.uk/contact-us
  • Emails to gmac@nas.org.uk
  • The GMAC Website has lots of good information https://www.autismgm.org.uk

Grow in confidence support group

This group usually meets on the third Thursday of every month 6.30-8.30pm via Zoom. The group is facilitated by an autistic person Mark Simpson, and is open to anyone regardless of whether they have a formal diagnosis or not. The group is relaxed and if people prefer not to have cameras or mikes on that is fine. The group covers themes related to autism and each month there is a brief structured introduction to this month's topic followed by more informal conversation which people can choose to join in on or just listen.
