Fly posting

Report fly posting

Fly posting is an illegal activity and can be considered a criminal offence.

It is the act of putting up posters or signs on surfaces, usually without the owner’s permission. It can consist of posters and stickers.

It creates a negative impression of an area and contributes to street litter.

Any political agendas being fly posted is what we class as urgent.

Fly posting adverts is what we class as non-urgent.

What we do:

  • We aim to remove urgent fly posting within 1 working day of receiving the report.
  • We aim to remove non-urgent fly posting as soon as resources allow, after an assessment has been carried out.
  • In certain instances, we can take further action against companies or individuals who are responsible for fly posting.
  • We are not responsible for removing fly posting from any properties or land belonging to Bolton at Home and any other Housing Associations. Please report fly posting in these areas directly to Bolton at home or the relevant Housing Association.
