We can investigate a report of an abandoned vehicle
- if the vehicle has not been moved for at least 5 weeks, or
- if the vehicle’s physical condition represents a danger to the public
We are unable to investigate reports where:
- the vehicle is taxed, or
- the vehicle is considered abandoned because of the way it is parked or its general state of uncleanliness.
If you know who the owner of the vehicle is, then it is unlikely that we can consider it abandoned.
Check if the vehicle is taxed and has an MOT before you report it to us. If the vehicle is not taxed, report it at GOV.UK.
