Bolton Council has taken four residents to court as part of its continued crack down on flytipping.
Peter Stojka did not attend, but was found guilty in absence of dumping seven black bags on Kirkhall Lane and was fined £120, £696.98 costs plus £44 victim surcharge.
Mario Horvath was also found guilty in absence of dumping a sofa and cushions in the back street of Longden Street and was fined £120, ordered to pay £662.62 in costs plus £44 victim surcharge.
Haddy Njai was found guilty in her absence of flytipping a mattress and bed base and fined £120 plus £173 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Renata Jakovics was also found guilty in her absence of dumping several black bags at the rear of Brooklyn Street and was fined £120 plus £667.62 costs and £0 victim surcharge.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, Councillor Nick Peek said:
“We will continue to crack down on fly tipping, which causes all sorts of problems for local residents.
The waste also costs local taxpayers for the council to remove it.
We are pleased that these fines have been handed out and hope they will act as a deterrent to those thinking of leaving their waste in the back streets in future.”
