Bolton Council has successfully secured two more prosecutions as part of its continued crackdown against flytippers.

Abduljwad Izzeddin attended and pleaded guilty to passing waste to an unlicensed carrier, who dumped bags of waste across Quebec Playing Fields. He was fined £80, ordered to pay £200 in costs plus £30 victim surcharge.

Aneta Calota did not attend and was found guilty in her absence of dumping bags of household waste at the rear of Woodfield Street. She was fined £440, and ordered to pay £425 in costs plus £44 victim surcharge.

Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, Councillor Nick Peel, said:

“This is another excellent result for the Council’s enforcement team, who continue to work tirelessly to catch, fine and prosecute any individual or company that dumps waste in Bolton.
Residents should never pay any person or business to take their waste without checking that they have the appropriate license, as many ‘unlicensed waste businesses’ simply take the money and dump the waste elsewhere, in this case on playing fields, causing mess, nuisance, and unnecessary costs to local council tax payers.

Dumping waste is never acceptable under any circumstance, and anyone with information should report it online http://www.bolton.gov.uk/flytipping.”
