What is the Survivors Forum?
The Bolton Survivors Forum is a co-created, trauma-informed initiative that brings together survivors of domestic abuse to influence how services are designed, delivered, and governed across Bolton. It’s a place where lived experience drives transformation.
Our Purpose
To embed the authentic voice of survivors into Bolton’s domestic abuse system, ensuring services are safer, more responsive, and survivor-led.

We follow the Survivors Charter, which ensures engagement is:

- Empowering – survivors co-design the Forum’s direction.

- Promoting self-care – support is built into every step.
- Transparent – clear communication and accountability.
- Liberating – voluntary, flexible, and life-affirming.
- Creative and joyful – celebrating strengths and milestones.
How We Work
- Bi-monthly meetings (in person or online)
- Confidential feedback options
- Survivor trained to represent on the Domestic Abuse Partnership Board
- Quarterly reporting and annual evaluations
- Training and resources provided
Who Can Join?
Anyone aged 18+ with lived experience of domestic abuse recent or historic. We welcome diverse voices and offer multiple ways to engage.
