From Saturday July 3, town centre vaccinations will be at Market Place Shopping Centre (ground floor). More services for new site to follow, but pre-booked appointments only this Saturday.

Regular testing

Regular testing for people without symptoms is really important and a key part of stopping the spread of the virus.

Lateral Flow Device (LFD) tests are rapid turnaround tests that are done at a test site or at home and results are ready within 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Around one in three people who have coronavirus have no symptoms and will be spreading it without realising it.

Broadening testing to identify those showing no symptoms will mean finding positive cases more quickly and will help to break chains of transmission.

Tests are available to people who live, work or study in the Bolton borough, regardless of their age. Children under 16 will need parental consent.

You can test:

1) At an LFD test site

Tests are being delivered at key sites in the borough with results available in as little as 30 minutes.

Sites:

  • Bolton Arena, Arena Approach, Horwich, Bolton BL6 6LB (Mon – Fri, 8am – 3pm)
  • The Victoria Hall, 37 Knowsley Street, Bolton BL1 2AS (Mon – Sun, 9am – 5pm)

2) At home

If you live, work or study in Bolton you can do test at home.  You are able to get tests by:

  • Collecting at a Community Collect site or pharmacy
  • Ordering online for home delivery

For more information visit www.nhs.uk/get-tested

3)  At an LFD pop up site (this weekend)

  • Moses Gate Country Park, Hall Lane, Farnworth BL4 7QS (Sat 3, 10am - 4pm)
  • Bolton town centre, Oxford Street BL1 1RF (Sat 3, 11am - 5pm & Sun 4, 10.30a - 8.30pm)
  • Queens Park, Chorley New Road BL1 4DA (Sat 3, 11am - 5pm & Sun 4, 10.30am - 8.30pm)

Testing us all

Bolton Council has teamed up with Bolton Wanderers to launch a new campaign, aimed at getting everyone to take two home COVID tests a week.

A spokesperson for Bolton Wanderers said:

“We want to keep everyone safe and make sure we can all get back to enjoying life to the full including watching live games at the University of Bolton Stadium.

“As in every team we all have our part to play. Do the right thing and get tested.”

IRONMAN UK testing

If you are going to be watching the IRONMAN UK race this weekend, whether that be on the course, at Queens Park or in Bolton town centre, we are asking everybody to take an LFD (Lateral Flow Device) test, 48 hours beforehand.

This is to identify and isolate positive cases to prevent transmission and stop the spread of the virus, and keep everybody as safe as possible.

You can find more info on where to access these tests for people without symptoms at www.bolton.gov.uk/testing

Crackdown on illegal tobacco to help keep Bolton kids smoke-free

People in Bolton are being encouraged to help keep kids safe and smoke-free by reporting illegal tobacco sales, often from ‘under the counter’ in local shops, so enforcement teams can take more products off the street.
