Who should pay council tax

We decide who should be named on the bill based on the priority below: 

1. Resident freeholder or leaseholder 
2. Resident statutory or secure tenant 
3. Resident licensee e.g. the landlord of a public house who lives on the premises
4. Other resident e.g. a squatter
5. Non-resident owner

A resident is someone aged 18 or over.
