Bolton Primary School Scheme of Work (SOW)

Our new Physical Education (PE) Schemes of Work are matched to the PE National Curriculum introduced in September 2014. The scheme has been created by qualified primary school teachers and sport specialist coaches, with a background in leading Primary PE. Our new schemes provide teachers with lessons that are fun, progressive and challenging. The easy to follow PE lesson plans provide teachers with a variety of comprehensive lesson plans that help them adopt a more creative approach to teaching and learning within physical education. Lessons provide children with the essential development of agility, balance and co-ordination, inclusive healthy competition and co-operative learning by using fun and engaging games that build up a range of transferable skills that can be used in a variety of sports and encourages creativity, cooperation and teamwork. Basic skills such as running, jumping and throwing, cooperative and collaborative learning are all covered throughout the scheme.

The online resource offers schools over 450 lesson plans covering sports such as dance, games, gymnastics and orienteering. The website also includes a PE Coordinator page for schools to map out their PE curriculum year delivering PE lessons relevant to a specific school. Our new PE Scheme of Work comes with assessment for each sport along with easy to use progression monitoring software. Schools using the progression monitoring software can track pupils and create personal profiles to help stretch and support learners.
