Governors provide a voluntary role in a school, make key decisions and make sure policies and procedures are in place to support positive outcomes for all children.
How to become a governor
If you’re interested in a particular school you can contact them directly to find out if they have any vacancies.
If you are a parent, ask at your child's school if they have any vacancies for parent governors.
Training and support
The Governor Services Team has a training programme to help people with their role.
