Draft West of Wingates Masterplan Supplementary Planning Document
We are consulting on the Draft Masterplan Supplementary Planning Document for West of Wingates until 22nd January 2026. The site is already allocated for industrial/warehousing development in the adopted Places for Everyone Plan. The SPD does not change that allocation; it provides more detailed guidance so that any future planning application is coordinated, well-designed and supported by the right infrastructure.
The draft SPD sets out expectations for how the site should be planned. It explains the layout of development, movement routes, green spaces, design principles and how key infrastructure should come forward.
Documents relating to the West of Wingates Masterplan SPD are now available to view in the One Stop Shop and all borough libraries.
We are holding a drop-in event relating to this consultation where you can view the draft West of Wingates masterplan SPD and exhibition, ask questions, speak to a planning officer and speak to a member of the Harworth team. Details of this session are below:
- Time: 1-7pm, Monday 15 December 2025
- Location: Westhoughton Hub, Central Drive, Westhoughton BL5 3DS.
This drop in event will also have exhibitions boards relating to the Local Plan Direction of Travel Document which is also being consulted on. Planning officers will be present to speak to. Find out more here: Emerging local plan
