Bolton Council’s building control service has achieved the highly respected ISO accreditation, recognising the quality of its processes and giving added confidence to residents, developers & investors
The building control service ensures construction projects meet strict structural, fire safety and energy efficiency standards across the borough by applying the Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act 2022.
The act was introduced in the wake of Grenfell Tower tragedy.
The accreditation is awarded to the council for one year with annual audits conducted to maintain the certification.
The accreditation demonstrates that the service meets internationally recognised standards for quality management – an achievement that is not easy to attain and reflects the professionalism and expertise of the team.
For customers, the accreditation means they can be assured that Bolton’s building control service operates to clear, robust procedures, delivering reliable and consistent decisions on building safety and compliance.
It also strengthens the borough’s appeal to developers and investors, who can have confidence that projects in Bolton are supported by a service that meets recognised industry benchmarks.
Cllr Nadeem Ayub, Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member with responsibility for building and planning, said:
“The ISO accreditation reflects the high standards our teams work to every day and the commitment they have shown to continually improving the service.
“It gives our residents, businesses and investors confidence that Bolton’s building control service is delivering quality, consistency and professionalism at every stage.”
