A new website has launched to showcase the ongoing regeneration of Bolton and promote the borough’s success to national and international investors.
The new look investinbolton.com is now live and features an interactive development map, profiles of successfully completed projects and a directory of investment opportunities.
The launch comes as Bolton enters an exciting new phase in its regeneration with work now underway at the Church Wharf development and demolition work soon to start on Crompton Place.
Demolition specialists Rhodar are projected to spend £1m with local contractors and suppliers once work to demolish Crompton Place begins this summer.
It will pave the way for a £250m mix-used development by renowned urban regeneration specialists Federated Hermes MEPC.
Meanwhile, local developers Watson Homes will construct 400 new homes and a hotel at the strategic town centre gateway at Church Wharf.
These projects are expected to unlock even further investment at sites across the borough, with many of these potential developments profiled on the new-look Invest in Bolton website.
Bolton town centre is one of the catalyst projects within the wider NorthFold strategic location, a major growth corridor connecting the town with Wigan which has the potential to deliver 9,000 new homes, £356m in GVA and the long-awaited M6 to M61 link road.
NorthFold includes Harworth’s 1m sq ft commercial development at Hexagon Park which has potential to create 6,000 new jobs.
Alongside bricks-and-mortar development, the new site also details Bolton Council’s continued commitment to supporting investment and regeneration through robust polices.
Policies and initiatives including Bolton’s new place brand, Visitor Economy Strategy, Cultural Strategy and its Economic Growth and Resilience Plan have contributed significantly to the successful ongoing regeneration of the borough.
Bolton Council’s Director of Place, Jon Dyson, said:
“The new Invest in Bolton website is our shop window to the world, showing investors why our borough is the ideal place for their next major project.
“Developments like Wellsprings, Moor Lane and Logistics North show what we can do, while Crompton Place, Church Wharf and Hexagon Park mark an exciting new chapter in our regeneration story.
“We also know that we need to create an environment where investors and businesses can thrive and we’re doing that though a whole suite of policies to boost our tourism, build on our strengths and promote growth.”
