Businesses are making themselves at home in The Wellsprings, Bolton’s new innovation hub and a key part of the town centre’s ongoing regeneration.

Wellsprings openThe recently renovated building provides high-quality, flexible office, meeting and co-working spaces for entrepreneurs and start-ups, as well as call pods, bike storage and kitchen facilities.

Customers will join a growing community of creative, collaborative and technology-driven enterprises, with on-hand business growth support from the centre’s Innovation Director.

The Wellsprings is part of Bolton Council’s wider strategy to drive investment, encourage innovation and create more quality jobs.

It is just one of the developments that have been successfully delivered by the council as part of the ongoing regeneration of the town centre.

The building sits opposite the fully renovated Central Library, and nearby to both the Bolton Market Food Hall and Elizabeth Park.

It is next door to the Octagon Multistorey Car Park and within a few minutes’ walk of Bolton Transport Interchange.

New residents have now moved into the nearby residential developments of Moor Lane and Deansgate Gardens creating vibrant new urban neighbourhoods.

Bolton Council Leader, Cllr Nick Peel, said:

“The Wellsprings is a vital part of Bolton’s ongoing regeneration, as we continue to transform the town centre with the right mix of places to shop, live, work and relax.

“So many of the UK’s biggest businesses started here in Bolton, and we now have a space where the industry leaders of the future can take their first steps. 

“As these new businesses develop and grow at The Wellsprings they will create more jobs, contribute to the local economy and attract further investment.”

The Wellsprings is managed on behalf of Bolton Council by Oxford Innovation Space, the leading operator of innovation centres across the UK and Ireland.

Its 30 managed centres in the UK and Ireland provide flexible, cost-effective office, lab, and workshop solutions for over 1,000 entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing businesses.

Integral to its offer is providing entrepreneurs with business planning advice, coaching, and mentoring.

It also manages investment networks that link investors with entrepreneurs seeking funding from £20,000 to £2m.

The upper floors of The Wellsprings have been upgraded into quality office space for established businesses, offering high-spec facilities and spectacular views across the town centre.

The Wellsprings renovation was backed by £6.9m from the Towns Fund with a further £1.4m from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
