Over 150 people from local businesses came together today to attend a support event hosted by Business Bolton.

Bolton means business 2024Entrepreneurs and organisations at the Bolton Means Business event joined 40 exhibitors to get expert advice on topics ranging from skills development and innovation to opportunities in the green economy.

As well as networking and connecting with support, guests also took time to celebrate the Bolton business community.

The event was made possible by the support of sponsors BGH Simplifi and their speaker Tom Pickford, plus the support of key guests including Lisa Kerford from Aptus Utilities, Bolton Council Director of Place, Jon Dyson, and Deputy Council Leader Cllr Zaman, with Andrew Dickson MBE from Bolton FM acting as MC.

Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Cllr Akhtar Zaman, said:

“Bolton’s local businesses are at the heart of our economy and do a brilliant job in making Bolton a great place to invest.

“Thanks to today’s event, businesspeople discussed the benefits of doing work in Bolton, made new connections, and gathered leads for potential new work.

“This forms part of our commitment to support the local economy and back Bolton companies.

“Whether you’re an entrepreneur, small business or simply interested in the local business scene, the Bolton Means Business event should be a key date in your calendar.”

Part of the event involved the opportunity to take part in the consultation about the Economic Growth and Resilience Plan, where people could feed back on what they think the council and its partners should be doing to promote sustainable economic growth.
