Bolton Council is offering free parking this Christmas as the festive season gets underway in the town centre.

The council has reopened the car park at Crompton Place Shopping Centre and an introductory free parking offer will be available until the new year.

The car park is accessed via Nelson Square and drivers can park for free for up to four hours with no return within two hours.

The offer is ideal for anyone visiting the town centre for gift shopping, to meet friends, or to enjoy everything on offer at the Bolton Christmas Festival.

From today, visitors can stop by the Tipi Bar and Stage in Victoria Square to enjoy a drink and take in performances from a variety of acts.

The main event of this year’s festival, the brand-new Christmas Roller Rink in Crompton Place opens on December 15.

The family friendly attraction will offer school sessions, group bookings and themed nights.

December 15 also marks the start of Bolton’s traditional Christmas market across four days until December 18.

Victoria Square will host hot food vendors alongside more than 30 chalet-style stalls offering a wide range of gifts.

Bolton Council Leader, Cllr Martyn Cox, said:

“With prices rising for everyone this winter, we are pleased to be freezing parking charges at Crompton Place Shopping Centre.

“We want to encourage visitors from across Bolton, and beyond, to come into the town centre, support local businesses and enjoy everything we have on offer this Christmas.

“There is something for everyone at this year’s Christmas Festival, together with the great retail and hospitality offer that is available in Bolton all year round.

“The addition of free parking makes Bolton the ideal destination for Christmas shopping or a festive trip out with friends and family.”

Bolton Christmas Festival is supported main sponsor Step Places as well as partners Warburtons and Crompton Place Shopping Centre.
