Bolton Council’s online planning portal is back up and running following a global IT issue which impacted a number of local authorities and public organisations.

The public access system is now fully available for users to search and review open applications and previous decisions.

The statutory consultation windows for applications affected by the IT outage have now been extended to give consultees more time to contribute.

Cllr John Walsh, Chairman of Bolton Council’s Planning Committee, said:

“I know many residents have been inconvenienced by the recent global IT issue which impacted our online planning portal.

“On behalf of members and residents I have been pushing for this issue to be resolved and can confirm the online service is now fully operational.

“Extended deadlines will mean applications will not be adversely affected by this outage.

“I would like to thank residents for their patience while the planning portal was down.”
