How do I find a nursery place?
A nursery school is for children aged two and above.
- Grosvenor
- The Orchards
How are nursery places allocated?
The head teacher allocates nursery places as they become available. Places are offered mainly based on the child’s age. Headteachers may also consider medical needs or significant social circumstances, which should normally be supported by independent evidence.
Having a place in a nursery class does not automatically give a child a place at the primary school it is attached to.
Early Years High Needs Base Provision
As part of Bolton’s Early Years SEND strategic approach, High Needs SEND Base provision offers places for children aged 2–5 with significant special educational needs and disabilities. These bases provide an environment tailored to children’s learning and development needs, support integration, and are staffed by practitioners with specialist expertise.
