All Bolton’s allotment sites are managed by the Greenspace Service.
On some sites, Bolton Council may choose to enter into a management agreement with Site Associations or Societies. This arrangement allows the Association to oversee the day-to-day management of the allotment site. These groups represent the interests of all tenants on the site, including both members and non-members.
Members of the Association act on behalf of the Council under the terms of the agreement. However, the Council reserves the right not to enter into an agreement with a relevant Association, or to withdraw an existing agreement, if it considers that the Association is not acting in the best interests of the Council and/or its tenants.
Membership of a Society/Association is entirely at the tenant’s discretion and is not compulsory.
Tenants are responsible for the upkeep of their own plot and are expected to support the current allotment rules as part of their tenancy agreement. Persistently breaking any of our rules will result in your tenancy being ended.
