Areas where we currently offer work experience

Corporate Business Support Services - Learn about the business of running a council.  You’ll get an operational overview of how we recruit our people, manage our finances, market our services and support our teams to deliver for the Community.

Corporate Property Services - Students can explore roles in Architecture, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, and (from April) Mechanical & Electrical. Placements include hands-on experience in design, inspections, project coordination, and system specifications.  

Library and Museum Service - We have now reached capacity for requests in 2026.  

Our places are limited in some areas so please express in your application how this work experience will support your course of study and onward career plans.
