The Westhoughton Town Council will award a Civic Medal in 2021 to a person who has rendered great charitable or voluntary service to the community of Westhoughton. The recipient will also receive the Harold Daniels Memorial Trophy (to be kept for one year).  Members of the public are invited to write in to the Council with their nominations.

The nominees must have provided over 20 years of charitable or voluntary service to Westhoughton in any field e.g. sport, entertainment, politics, voluntary services, children and young people, charity fundraising etc.  They do not have to be residents of Westhoughton to qualify.  Nominations will be accepted for individuals who have been nominated in previous years but have not yet received an award.  Nominations submitted by family members must also have support from members of the public.

Serving Town Councillors are not eligible and former Councillors would be required to declare their intention never to seek re-election.
