The writing is no longer on the wall, thanks to Bolton Council’s latest investment under the Cleaner and Greener initiative.
A new hot and colder water pressure washer will help to combat graffiti across the borough.
Equipped with a 1,250 litre water tank, attached to a trailer and with a dedicated vehicle, the compact mobile unit will be used to respond rapidly whenever required.
The £30,000 washer has been purchased with funding from the £1.5m pot set aside by Bolton Council to improve green spaces and keep urban areas clean.
The kit has adjustable settings with heated water used to shift the toughest grime and a low-pressure mode that can clean areas such as the soft services of playgrounds.
The Cleaner and Greener investment aims to deliver green spaces and town centres we can all be proud of.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services Delivery, Cllr Adele Warren, said:
“Graffiti is a blight on our streets and public spaces. It is illegal vandalism and will not be tolerated in Bolton.
“The council’s £1.5m Cleaner and Greener investment aims to deliver green spaces and town centres we can all be proud of.
“This is an adaptable piece of equipment that can be deployed rapidly so residents do not have to put up with the eyesore of graffiti in their community.”
The council’s £1.5m Cleaner and Greener fund has already been used for new mowers, tree planting in Farnworth Park and new “Glutton” street cleaners.
