Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Book browsing and public computers will be available at Central Library from Monday 13 July. Bolton Museum will be open from Tuesday 14 July.

All other buildings within Bolton Library and Museum Services are closed for the foreseeable future due to COVID-19.  We will continually review this decision in line with government guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you back to our buildings as soon as we are able to.

Order & Collect and Returning Books

From Monday 6th July you can order and collect a bundle of six books, which can be themed or mixed categories, from six of our libraries.  Your bundle can be collected from one of the following libraries: Central, Breightmet, Farnworth, Harwood, Horwich or Westhoughton.

At this point we are unable to supply specific titles or authors for collection.

Central Library will be open for ordering and collection between 09:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday, and 10:00 to 16:00 on Saturdays.

The other five libraries will be open for ordering and collection 10:00 to 16:00 Monday to Saturday.

Please call 01204 332853 or email libraries@bolton.gov.uk to order a bundle of 6 books which can be themed or from mixed categories.

Returning your books to the libraries listed above
There will be a beige container outside to leave your books in.  The safety of staff and the public remain our top priority and strict hygiene and social distancing measures will be in place.

All fines have been removed for the period of time that the libraries have been closed, and this policy will continue until further notice.  You can still access a wide range of eBooks, eAudio books and eMagazines and the Home Library service will continue to deliver books.

Thank you for your continued support.
