The Rugby League World Cup comes to England in 2021, and tournament organisers have today revealed the much-anticipated fixture schedule.

It promises to be the biggest and best World Cup in the history of the sport, as the men’s, women’s and wheelchair teams all compete at the same time in a major sporting first.

Bolton will be hosting two fixtures at the University of Bolton Stadium, starting off with England vs France in the men's tournament on Saturday 30th October.

The full fixture list for Bolton is as follows:-

  • England vs France (men's) - University of Bolton Stadium (Saturday 30th October) - 17.00pm
  • Men's Quarter-Final (Teams TBC) - University of Bolton Stadium (Sunday 14th November) - 14.30pm

In June, it was revealed that Bolton will be the team training base for French men's team.

Bolton Council Leader, Cllr David Greenhalgh, said: “The countdown is well underway to the start of the Rugby League World Cup 2021 and the excitement is building with more and more people asking for details on the fixtures and how to get tickets for the games. 

“We look forward to welcoming the giants of the game to our town and will help the RLWC2021 make it a tournament the world will remember as the biggest, best and most inclusive yet.

“It’s fantastic that the RLWC2021 have awarded us the England v France game on 30th October 2021and a men’s quarter final 14th November to be held at the University of Bolton Stadium.

“With Bolton hosting France as a training camp during the tournament they are sure to get our support and the atmosphere in the University of Bolton Stadium will be magnifique with a full house guaranteed.

Chairman of Bolton Wanderers, Sharon Brittan, added: “We couldn’t have asked for a better group fixture than the England v France game.

“With France being based in Bolton and playing against the hosts it will make for a thrilling contest at the University of Bolton Stadium. With our venue hosting a quarter-final later in the Rugby World Cup, we are very excited to be staging two key games for a global event.
