St Peters Way will be closed overnight this weekend (7 & 8 March) for essential maintenance work.

The full length of the road - between Topp Way and the Kearsley Spur and including all slip roads - will be closed each night from 10pm until 6am.

During this time the road will be closed to traffic in both directions for the safety of workers on site. Diversions will be in place and signposted.

St Peter’s Way is closed six times throughout the year for essential maintenance.

This weekend, staff will be removing litter, cleaning the road, and carrying out repairs as needed to barriers, street lighting, signs, and drains.

Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Highways and Transport, Cllr Stuart Haslam, said: “We have scheduled these essential works to take place overnight to minimise disruption and we would like to thank drivers for their understanding and patience.”

At other times of the year tree maintenance, grass cutting and weed control is undertaken.
