Residents can get free advice to help them stay warm and well – while saving money at the same time.
Top tips to help people cut their bills will be available at the Age UK centre on Cross Street in Farnworth, on Tuesday October 22 from 11am to 1pm.
The event is particularly aimed at people aged 50 plus, but everyone is welcome.
Advisors will be on hand from organisations including: Age UK; Bolton at Home; Bolton Care and Repair; Bolton Council’s Money Skills team; Furniture 4U; Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue; Greater Manchester Police Community Support Officers; NHS Bolton Foundation Trust; Telecare, and United Utilities.
The council’s money skills advisors will also hold an “energy surgery” where residents can get help comparing their tariffs and understand how they can benefit from online deals.
Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services Delivery, Cllr Adele Warren, said: “There is lots of help out there for people struggling with their bills or needing some advice and support.
“Lots of experts from different organisations will be at this free event, and we would encourage people to come along - it could really help to save you money.”
A goody bag containing energy saving freebies will also be available.
Everyone will also be entered in a prize draw for a chance to win items including a slow cooker, a kettle and supermarket vouchers.
