Council leaders have praised ‘Team Bolton’ for helping to make the 14th Bolton Food and Drink Festival a hugely successful event.
Hundreds of Bolton Council staff and partners work tirelessly to organise and deliver the event, described by celebrity chef and regular star guest James Martin as “the best food and drink festival in the UK”.
Celebrity guests including The Hairy Bikers, Gregg Wallace, Michael Caines and Aiden Byrne, attended this year’s event which is organised by Bolton Council, in association with headline sponsor Aldi.
This year, 400,000 visitors flocked to the event, smashing last year’s record.
Staff from teams across the council including events and marketing, waste, cleansing, markets, library and museum, licensing, sports, youth and play work on the event.
The Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr David Greenhalgh, said: “Every year our hard-working teams come together with passion, drive and the will to make it work.
“Every year, somehow, they surpass themselves.
“I want to pay tribute to all the fantastic teams of people involved, congratulate everyone and thank them for their hard work and commitment.
“They have all worked together to create a truly magnificent event.”
I want to thank all of the team for making Bolton Food and Drink Festival 2019 the biggest and best ever!
Tony Oakman, Chief Executive of Bolton Council, added: “We have a fantastic team in Bolton and the festival would simply not be possible without them.
“They are all incredibly dedicated and work so hard, all year round, to make sure every event is more successful than the last.
“There are too many people involved to name individually, but every service in the council has played a part and it really does show off the best of #TeamBolton.
“I want to thank all of the team for making Bolton Food and Drink Festival 2019 the biggest and best ever!”
