Following a record-breaking 6,000 entries in 2026, the world's biggest and best IRONKIDS returns to Bolton next summer, with tickets officially on sale from Tuesday, 27 October.
Following another hugely successful IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton weekend, thousands of young athletes will once again race through the streets of Bolton as part of one of the town's biggest annual sporting celebrations.
For 2027, up to 6,000 children and young people aged 3 to 15 will once again have the opportunity to take part in the world’s largest IRONKIDS event.
Participants will experience the unique excitement and electric atmosphere that have made the event a firm favourite, creating lasting memories and inspiring the next generation to get active and achieve their goals.
With places expected to be in high demand, families are encouraged to secure their places early when registration opens.
Every participant will receive an official event t-shirt ahead of race day and a finisher's medal after crossing the finish line.
The IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton weekend will once again feature three major events across three days of sporting action and family entertainment:
- Night Run Bolton UK – Friday, 4 June 2027
- IRONKIDS Bolton – Saturday, 5 June 2027
- IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton – Sunday, 6 June 2027
The announcement follows the launch of entries for Night Run Bolton UK 2027, which attracted significant interest from runners eager to take on the popular 5K and 10K routes through Bolton town centre.
Following record demand in recent years, it’s expected to be another bumper year across the entire event weekend.
The weekend will culminate with IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton on Sunday, welcoming athletes from across the globe to tackle the iconic swim, bike and run course before crossing the finish line in the heart of the town centre.
Having already sold out for 2027, the event continues to demonstrate its exceptional popularity and reinforces Bolton's reputation as a destination for world-class events.
Cllr Debbie Newall, Bolton Council's Executive Cabinet Member for Culture, said:
"IRONKIDS Bolton is always one of the highlights of the IRONMAN weekend, and we're incredibly proud to host the world's largest IRONKIDS event here in Bolton.
“Every year we see thousands of children and young people enjoying the experience, building confidence and creating lasting memories while being active and having fun.
"Welcoming a record 6,000 young athletes to IRONKIDS in 2026 was a fantastic achievement for Bolton, but the impact of the IRONMAN weekend extends far beyond the start and finish lines.
“The events bring thousands of visitors into the town, supporting local businesses, driving footfall and generating valuable economic benefits, while showcasing Bolton as a thriving destination for sport, leisure and tourism."
With demand continuing to grow year on year, families are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
