Anyone considering a new career, returning to work, accessing education or training, or wanting to improve their wellbeing is invited to Bolton’s Job and Skills Fair.
Bolton’s Job and Skills Fair will return to Victoria Square on Saturday, 12 September, bringing employers, training providers and jobseekers together from 10am to 2pm.
The jobs fair, organised by Bolton Council’s Digital Employment Skills team and The Employment Hub, has received glowing feedback from employers and job seekers alike who have attended previous events.
The free event brings together local employers, training providers, education organisations and support services, promoting a wide range of career opportunities and advice for anyone looking to boost their income and prospects.
Employers are recruiting for local vacancies, and there are lots of volunteering opportunities which can provide essential experience and job skills, plus there are apprenticeships and further education options for both young people and adults of any age.
Employers attending include Bolton Council, Bolton CVS, Astemo, and their representatives want to talk to visitors about what they can offer with current vacancies, career development opportunities and the benefits of working in their organisation.
In addition to applying for the jobs on offer, visitors can also get free independent advice and information on career related training paths including further and higher education qualifications, basic computing and digital skills required for work, language courses like ESOL, and CV writing and interviewing skills workshops.
Targeted support is also available for anyone wishing to return to work following prolonged absence, whether it is due to living with, or recovering from, a health condition.
There is also help to overcome other common barriers to work such as improving self-confidence, health and wellbeing, or accessing benefits and financial help when transitioning into employment.

“Regeneration goes far beyond money and new buildings, it is about creating opportunities for people to find work, learn skills and reach their full potential.
“Events like this underscore our commitment to helping more people into secure, fulfilling long-term employment as part of our Economic Growth and Resilience Plan.”
Cllr Debbie Newall, Executive Cabinet Member for Culture at Bolton Council, said:
“Previous jobs fairs have been a huge success, attracting hundreds of visitors, many of whom have secured quality employment, apprenticeships and job training opportunities.
“This can be life-changing for many, and is open to all including young people, parents, carers, and anyone else looking for a career change.
“Whether currently in work or not, please just drop in for a chat with our friendly event staff as it could inspire you to greater things in the future.”
