Albert Halls Bolton is serving up a uniquely local experience this July, with a special Phoenix Nights–themed pre-show dining offer running alongside Peter Kay’s sold-out hometown shows.

Taking place inside The Albert bar & restaurant, the themed dining experience invites audiences to start their evening in true Bolton style; celebrating the humour, heart, and nostalgia of the much-loved TV series, as well as Peter Kay’s iconic food observations, before heading into the famous Albert Halls to see the Bolton-born star perform in one of his favourite hometown venues.

Designed to complement the excitement of Peter Kay’s return, the experience blends familiar flavours with playful nods to Phoenix Nights, making it the perfect addition to an already unforgettable night.

The specially created menu, named Tonight, at the Phoenix pays tribute to the spirit of Peter Kay and his hit show, with a selection of dishes inspired by memorable moments and Northern charm. Highlights include:

  • “Garlic Bread!? It’s the Future!”
  • “Phoenix Fries”
  • “Clubland Will Never Pie”
  • “Friday Chippy Tea”
  • “Peter KayFC Burger”
  • “Cheese… Cake!?”

To book Peter Kay pre-show dining, diners must have tickets to see the Peter Kay live show on the same day.

The Phoenix Nights experience is part of The Albert’s growing pre-show dining programme, which has been enhancing a wide range of events at Albert Halls in recent months since its refurbishment and rebrand.

From tribute nights to theatre performances, guests have already been able to pair their tickets with curated dining options, turning a visit into a full night out in Bolton town centre.

With more themed dining experiences planned, visitors are encouraged to check the website and follow The Albert’s social channels for the latest announcements and upcoming menus. The venue is on both Facebook as The Albert and Instagram as @TheAlbertBolton.

Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Culture, Cllr Debbie Newall, said:

“The relaunch of The Albert has brought new energy into one of Bolton’s most historic venues.

“These dining experiences celebrate everything that makes Bolton special - our local chefs, our creativity, and our strong culture and entertainment scene.

“By elevating the pre‑show experience, we’re not only enhancing nights out in the town centre but also supporting our long‑term goals to boost Bolton’s visitor economy and showcase the very best of what we have to offer.”

The Albert Halls’ focus on food-led experiences continues into the wider events calendar, with the venue set to play a role in the upcoming Bolton Food and Drink Festival.

Among the highlights is Pasties, Pies and Punchlines, a comedy dining event hosted at Albert Halls featuring Justin Moorhouse, who starred alongside Peter Kay in Phoenix Nights.

Combining great food with stand-up comedy, the event offers another chance to celebrate Bolton’s humour, heritage, and hospitality.
