Dozens of jobseekers attended a Bolton Council recruitment event as one of the UK’s biggest employers gets set to create 75 new jobs in the borough.
The Bolton Employment Hub hosted the event in collaboration with McDonald’s as it prepares to open its new site at Logistics North.
The company is looking to fill 75 crew member positions at the new restaurant, offering valuable employment opportunities for all levels of experience.
Attendees were able to learn more about the roles available, speak directly with representatives, and take the first steps toward joining the McDonald’s team.
The Bolton Employment Hub, the council’s work and skills support service, recently relocated to the One Stop Shop in Bolton Town Hall.
The team helps residents to progress in their careers, by providing a clear pathway into good quality employment and skills development.
They also work closely with local businesses to offer free recruitment support, whether for a single vacancy or multiple roles.
Steph Holland, Head of People at McDonald’s, said:
“Partnering with Bolton Council for our recent bespoke career event with the Employment Hub was a brilliant experience.
“The event was flawlessly organised, and we were thrilled by the level of interest, meeting with more than 150 fantastic candidates.
“It’s been a true pleasure collaborating with their team and we look forward to building on this success together.”
Bolton Council Leader, Cllr Akhtar Zaman, said:
“This event was a great example of how we work in partnership with employers to help them find the skilled local staff they need.
“The new restaurant at Logistics North highlights how our ongoing regeneration work is bringing more jobs and investment into the borough.
“In its new location, our Employment Hub is better placed than ever to help people develop skills, find sustainable employment and achieve their career ambitions.”
Bolton residents looking to find work or change jobs can call into the One Stop Shop Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm to speak to an Employability Coach.
