The Bolton Vision Partnership has officially launched the Bolton 2040 Vision (The Borough Plan), a roadmap to transform the community into one where everybody can thrive.

Bolton visionLast week, the Vision Partnership hosted its flagship event in The Albert Halls.

This was to formally introduce key delivery partners across public services, business, education, and community sectors to the Vision’s six missions; missions that highlight a collective commitment that reflect who we are today and who we aspire to be tomorrow.

Highlights of the event included showcases by representatives focusing on each of the missions, demonstrating how factors such as economic growth, residents feeling a sense of belonging, and community safety all contribute to the long-term vision for our borough.

These included individuals from organisations such as Age UK, The Octagon Theatre, Talking Football, and students from Ladybridge High School.

Ibby Ismail, Chair of the Bolton Vision Board, said:

“The Borough Plan is an essential document to ensure ideas for the long-term benefit of Bolton are transformed into real action. As a community, we all have a role to play.

“The plan, our launch event, community pop-up events, and accompanying resource pack have been developed to ensure everyone involved can promote the Vision across the borough with clarity and ease.

“The showcases at the launch event highlighted Bolton’s potential, demonstrating how the community is already well on its way to achieving the Bolton 2040 Vision.”

The Vision’s six missions are guided by three pillars of prevention, investment, and growth. They include:

  • Mission 1: Family-friendly, where every child matters
  • Mission 2: Thriving, investment-ready with a growing economy
  • Mission 3: Inclusive, with access to culture, leisure and visitor opportunities
  • Mission 4: Supportive, empowering and where people feel a sense of belonging
  • Mission 5: Safe and protected, with confident, cohesive communities
  • Mission 6: Healthy, where our population live well for longer

A series of pop-up events will follow the launch, open to the public and held across the borough, demonstrating the Vision in action.
