Culinary legend and Michelin-starred chef, Marco Pierre White, will headline Saturday at this year’s Bolton Food and Drink Festival – marking his first ever appearance at the UK’s biggest event of its kind, as the festival celebrates its milestone 20th anniversary.
Taking place from Friday 22 to Monday 25 August, the FREE four-day extravaganza returns to the Greater Manchester town centre with a spectacular showcase of street food, top chef demonstrations, live entertainment and family-friendly fun.
Marco Pierre White – the youngest chef to ever earn three Michelin stars and a true icon of British gastronomy – will take centre stage on Saturday 23 August, hosting two live cookery demos at 11am and 1pm, followed by a Q&A session and Ploughman’s lunch at 3pm.
Audiences will get a unique opportunity to see the acclaimed chef in action, sharing his signature techniques, stories, and culinary wisdom in a rare live appearance.
Marco said:
"Food has always been about more than just ingredients – it’s about people, passion and bringing communities together.
“It’s a real privilege to be part of this year’s Bolton Food and Drink Festival, especially as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
“Moments like these remind us why we fell in love with food in the first place. I’m looking forward to sharing that joy with fellow food lovers in Bolton on 23rd August.”
This special booking is a major coup for the Bolton Food and Drink Festival, with organisers promising an unforgettable programme to celebrate two decades of culinary excellence and community spirit.
The festival will once again transform Bolton’s town centre into a vibrant hub of global cuisine, artisan markets, family zones, pop-up bars, street performances and more – cementing its status as a must-visit highlight in the UK’s summer calendar.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Culture, Cllr Nadeem Ayub, said:
“We’re thrilled to be welcoming Marco Pierre White to Bolton for the very first time – his appearance marks a major moment in the 20-year history of our festival and will no doubt be one of this summer’s hottest tickets.
“Bolton Food and Drink Festival has always been about bringing the best of the culinary world to our town, and with Marco joining us alongside our returning favourite James Martin, we’re set for an absolutely unforgettable weekend.”
The announcement follows the exciting news that festival favourite, James Martin, will also be returning for his 15th year at the event.
He’ll be delighting fans with his sell-out live cookery demos on Monday 25 August, at 11am, 1pm and 3pm – bringing his trademark charm, flavour-packed dishes and expert tips to the stage once again.
Tickets for both Marco Pierre White and James Martin’s live cookery demos are on sale now, with premium and standard seating options available.
All sessions will include BSL interpretation, and early booking is strongly advised to avoid missing out.
