Bolton School Meals, the catering service provided by Bolton Council, has been recognised for excellence.
The service has achieved the Food for Life Served Here Bronze Award from the Soil Association for serving healthy and sustainable meals.
The award recognises caterers who go beyond meeting the School Food Standards to give children meals that are not only delicious, but also good for health, nature and our climate.
Cllr Nadim Muslim, Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet for Environmental Services, said:
“The award is much deserved recognition for our kitchen teams and support staff as they continually work hard to provide tasty, healthy and sustainable meals.
“It was great to spend time with our staff at Claypool Primary, to see first-hand their professionalism and enthusiasm for the job, and how much the children loved them and their school meals.
“We know that good food and nutrition is essential fuel for a child’s learning and development and its fantastic our catering service is contributing to this to such a high standard. It’s something we should be extremely proud of in Bolton.”
