A free event will give business owners, leaders and line managers the confidence and skills they need to support the mental health and wellbeing of their teams.

The Workplace Wellbeing Event will take place at the Octagon Theatre on Wednesday, May 25 from 4.15pm to 7pm.

Anyone interested in attending can register for free online.

The event is part of a wider project by Bolton Council in partnership with corporate wellbeing specialists Ripple&Co.

Funded by the government’s Mental Health Recovery Action Plan, the partnership has co-designed a programme of resources and training for small and medium sized businesses.

The event will feature an innovative presentation and performance to demonstrate how leaders can have a transformative impact on their employees’ wellbeing.

Bolton Council’s Director of Public Health, Dr Helen Lowey, said:

“Over the last two years, the importance of protecting and promoting employee wellbeing has come into sharp focus.

“Mental ill health is now the number one reason for long-term absence, but employers can take steps to positively impact on staff wellbeing.

“I urge all leaders, business owners and line mangers to register for this free event and see how improved wellbeing benefits not only employees but the organisation as a whole.”

The event will offer valuable insights alongside networking opportunities and a free hot buffet.

Attendees will have access to free wellbeing resources and will receive a certificate of attendance.
