Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance ahead of work by United Utilities to repair a water leak on Crompton Way.
Work will start after 9.30am on Wednesday (Jan 19) at the crossing point west of the junction of Crompton Way and Tonge Moor Road.
The westbound side of Crompton Way will be closed for the duration of the project.
An end date for the work has not been confirmed as this will depend on the size of the leak and the complexity of the required repairs.
Officers from Bolton Council will be monitoring the work and will provide updates as it progresses.
Drivers planning to travel westward along Crompton Way towards Blackburn Road are instead urged to use the diversion routes along Tonge Moor Road, Turton Street and Kay Street (see the map provided).
Bolton Council would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding while these necessary repairs are completed.
