Description

If you're aged 10 to 18 [or 19 to 24 with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities] we want to hear your views.

Whether or not you have been directly affected by serious violence, your experiences and viewpoint will help us understand young people's concerns and shape future priorities (2027 - 2030).

What is a serious violent crime?

Serious violence includes incidents that cause, or are likely to cause, significant physical, emotional or psychological harm. This may include violence involving weapons, serious assaults, domestic abuse, sexual violence, exploitation and violence linked to criminal activity.

What we've done since you shared your views in 2023?

Since our last Serious Violence Consultation in 2023, partners across Bolton have continued to invest in preventing violence before it happens. This has included mentoring and support for children, young people and families, education and awareness programmes, undertaking community outreach activities, providing support for victims and survivors, targeted enforcement against those involved in violence and exploitation, and environmental improvements to make local areas safer.

What are the future priorities being proposed?

The Council now propose three themes as priorities and want to hear your views on them:

  • Safer Places and Spaces
  • Gender based violence
  • Serious Youth Violence
