Description

Have your say on the support and accommodation services in Bolton for 16-25 year olds.

Bolton Council is reviewing the support and accommodation offer for 16-25 years olds who would otherwise be homeless. Currently, this is largely provided by Bolton charity, Back Up, who provide flats for young people leaving care and for young people where living within the family home is no longer possible. This group also includes Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers and Young Parents.

Many young people leaving care might also be in supported or independent living schemes within the private sector, some with support at all times, some with outreach support.

Within all the accommodation offers, young people should be supported to develop skills for independence, helping them move into mainstream accommodation.

Bolton Council are now reviewing the provider commission for supported accommodation for 16 - 25 year olds and are keen to hear from individuals with experience of supported accommodation in Bolton. This could be a young person currently living in supported accommodation, an adult who has previously lived in supported accommodation, a friend or family member, or a professional working with experience of supported accommodation.
