Current roadworks in Bolton

Bolton Council contractors dig up roads and pavements for highway improvement schemes, planned resurfacing works and other maintenance to bridges, roads and footpaths.

Licenced utility companies can also dig up roads in Bolton. All roadworks should have a visible courtesy sign that gives a contact phone number and who the contractor is working for.

St Peters Way (A666) Overnight Closures - October 2015

As part of a £7.3 million project to improve St Peters Way, a detailed site investigation and survey of the road and bridges needs to be carried out. This will take place throughout October and will require the road to be closed to traffic every weekday, overnight from 8pm to 6am.
The full length, from the Kearsley roundabout to the town centre will be closed each night in preparation for an extensive resurfacing scheme next year.
Motorists will need to use alternative routes, which will be signposted.

Various Rail Bridge Closures

As part of the rail line electrification project, Network Rail need to demolish and rebuild a number of bridges in the region that are currently unsuitable for erecting power lines underneath. In the Bolton borough, several bridges are affected.

For this reason, the roads over the bridges need to be closed to allow for reconstruction.

Orlando Street
will be closed from 24th May 2015 until approximately 24th May 2016.

Diversion routes are signposted.
