Bolton Council contractors dig up roads and pavements for highway improvement schemes, planned resurfacing works and other maintenance to bridges, roads and footpaths.

Licenced utility companies can also dig up roads in Bolton. All roadworks should have a visible courtesy sign that gives a contact phone number and who the contractor is working for.

A666 St Peters Way - Major Resurfacing Works Summer 2016

Due to major resurfacing works, various closures and restrictions will affect St Peters Way (A666) this Summer, from its junction with the M61 to the town centre.

  • Sundays 19 & 26 June and 3 July
    Slip road at Kay Street (off slip northbound) will be closed. St Georges Street and Kay Street will be closed.
  • From 4 July, every night 7pm-6am, for 13 weeks
    St Peters Way will be closed entirely.
  • From 7pm Friday 19 August to 6am Monday 22 August, all weekend
    St Peters Way will be closed entirely.
  • From Monday 4 July for 13 weeks, all day, every day
    the speed limit on St Peters Way will be reduced to 30mph. Both directions. Entire length.
