Libraries

Welcome to your world of knowledge, information, discovery and entertainment…

There’s always a lot going on in Bolton Libraries. With a wide range of activities for adults and children including competitions, quizzes, book readings and free internet access - you’re sure to find something of interest.

To celebrate National Year of Reading 2008 joining the library is even easier – just click on the link National Year of Reading website and download and print off the library membership form.  Take it in to your local library and you can become a member straight away.

Library members can visit any one of Bolton’s 15 local libraries, or make use of our Mobile Library service and Library Link Scheme (offering library services to house-bound residents) - all free of charge! We provide information and resources to all residents, visitors, students and workers within the Borough of Bolton.

Our service also offers free access to the internet on over 150 computers located throughout the Borough, provides training courses on computer skills and has access to a wide range of on-line services for businesses.

Add to this our research and information resources, our specialist collections, the vast selection of stock available, our dedicated services (including services for the visually impaired, housebound residents and looked after children), the rental of CDs, DVDs and PS2 games and you’ll realise that Libraries have a lot to offer!

Membership for residents, students and the local work force is free, simply visit your nearest local library or mobile library stop and fill in one of the forms (make sure you provide identification to confirm your names, address and signature) and you’re ready to borrow.
