Good Afternoon,
Please see the below email regarding FREE Ask For Angela Training we have been asked to share by the GMCA (Greater Manchester Combined Authority).
We are reaching out to provide an update on the Greater Manchester Ask For Angela Vulnerability Training.
What is Ask For Angela
Ask For Angela is a public safety campaign that provides people who have become vulnerable a discreet way to ask trained team members for help.
What is the training and why is it important?
For the scheme to be effective, it is important that team members are trained on what to do if someone asks for Angela or if they notice someone becoming vulnerable. GMCA, in partnership with Ask For Angela and support from each of the ten local authorities across the region, has launched a bespoke online self led Greater Manchester Ask For Angela Vulnerability training, there are licences for 1500 team members to complete the course for free with potential to extend this should all these be used.
The training covers:
- An introduction to the course
- Identifying vulnerability in different groups of people and situations
- Preventing Sexual Harassment
- Bystander Intervention - How to support vulnerable people and victims of harassment
- Drink Spiking - What it is, what it feels like and how to tackle it
- What is Ask for Angela and how it works
- Greater Manchester initiatives
- An Additional Resources section
