A666 Bridge refurbishment works on Manchester Slip Road Bridge and Loxham Street Bridge is scheduled to commence week commencing 3 August 2026 and is expected to take approximately 18 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The main works will involve undertaking concrete repairs and paint system renewal to prevent further deterioration of the bridges. The refurbishment works shall be delivered in phases using lane closures and full closures to Loxham Street Manchester Slip Road and Smith’s Road, which will cause disruption to members of the public. Bolton Council’s contractor will endeavour to maintain access to throughout the works.
The Council would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to local residents and road users, but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum. Your patience would be appreciated during this time.
As you are aware, construction sites are dangerous places.
