Description

Have your say on admission arrangements for Bolton primary and secondary schools for the academic year September 2027 to August 2028

By law, admission authorities, like Bolton Council, are required to consult on their school admission arrangements, either once every 7 years (if no changes are made) or whenever they are proposing a change to their admission arrangements.

Bolton Council are now asking parents, guardians and stakeholders to feedback on the admission arrangements of children going into reception and secondary schools in 2027-28, or for those children moving school during the school year 2026-27.

We would like feedback on:

1. Changes to the medical criterion for admission to community and voluntary controlled primary schools.

The local authority is proposing to update the medical needs criterion to be clearer on how this criterion is applied and what information is required to meet this criterion.

View more information on the proposed change by viewing our Frequently Asked Questions document and the full document for 'Proposed Admission arrangements for primary and secondary community and voluntary controlled schools 2027-28'.

2. The local authority is consulting on the co-ordinated scheme for admissions.

The scheme has been updated for the relevant year of admission. There are no other changes.
