Desmond Smith

First Mayor of Horwich.

Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Committee.

He was a manager of Chorley New Road and Lord Street Primary Schools and Horwich College of Further Education.

Sadly, he collapsed and died at the funeral of his wife and Mayoress, Kathleen.
